Matching Madness

Target Age:
Early Two-Year Old
Materials You Will Need:
marker, paper, scissors
What To Do:
Matching develops your child's visual discrimination, an important pre reading skill. Collect several household items, (cookie cutter, wood shaped triangle, baby spoon, etc.) Place each on a different piece of paper as you trace around it using a marker. Place all the items inside a bag and the sheets of paper on the floor. Help your child remove each item and match it to the outline on the paper.
Variations:
Cover the outlined papers with clear contact paper. Place the papers in a container and place on your child's toy shelf.
