Weekly Letter
Target Age:
Early Two-Year Old
Materials You Will Need:
index cards, marker, yarn
What To Do:
Letter recognition can be fun to learn with this fun activity. On an index card, write the first letter, (beginning with consonants), hole punch the card and place on a piece of yarn for your child to wear. Search for letter throughout the week with your child, (signs along the road, titles on books, etc.) When your child sees the letter, say the 'B' sound then say the word 'book.'). Continue with the same sound for a week before moving to the next sound, if your child seems interested.
Variations:
If your child already knows some sounds, move on the other ones. Make cookies using dough in the shape of the weekly letter.
