Hearing Sounds

Target Age:
Early Infant
Materials You Will Need:
objects that make sounds
What To Do:

Children learn by using their sense of hearing. Gather some objects that make sounds, (a small bell, plastic container with rice, and a rattle). (Be sure you are in a quiet space.) Pick up one object and place it next to your child's ear to hear the sound. Place the same object next to your child's other ear to hear the sound. If your child is responsive, you can try another object. Observe your child's response. What responses did you observe?
